In an extensive landscape full of contemporary designs, spotting a true treasure doesn’t occur very often. Therefore, when something really stands out, I like to give due praise. As such, Finelines, a high-end workroom that focuses on exquisite window treatments and luxurious bedding, deserves a glowing spotlight.
Founded by Karen Gilman, Finelines is known for creating innovative products and curtains that can bring any design to life. Operating out of a two-story space that houses all aspects of production, Finelines consists of a strong team that makes this workroom a one-shop center for high-quality products.
In one particular project, Finelines made a delicate statement in a rustic space with simple yet striking sheers. Taking advantage of the open floor plan and wanting to add subtle ambiance and definition to the windows, beautifully-designed sheers hung from simple wrought iron hardware add just enough texture to balance the weightiness of the beams with the contemporary furnishings.
In this interior space the tall ceilings and curved window wall get an elegant curtain treatment featuring rich graphite curtains with a simple white stripe and geometric detail. These curtains demand attention and create the backdrop for the dramatic grand piano. The softness of the sheer roman shade mounted within the frame of the window allow the homeowners to control light during the day or soften the black glass of the window at night.
Featuring beautiful millwork and a simple, yet striking box beam ceiling, this transitional living area only required the most basic curtains to accent the room’s large windows. The simplicity of the curtain is made ever so elegant with the tiny pleat detail at the top of the curtains, the panels that just droop to the floor and the subtle sheen of the matte silk.
This stunning vision of monochromatic décor is simply gorgeous! The windows’ cream curtains seamlessly enhance the room’s fresh, neutral color palette, while maintaining a light and airy atmosphere. The simplicity of the iron hardware is reiterated in the thin metal cocktail table and the corseted back chairs.
